Julie D. Suman, R.Ph., Ph.D.
President, FounderDr. Suman is a founder and president of Next Breath LLC and manages the contract research division that supports product development for North American and European clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device markets. She is registered pharmacist and a graduate of Duquesne University and University of Maryland with a B.S. and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Currently, Dr. Suman is an adjunct assistant professor, University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy, Baltimore MD and a co-editor of the Proceedings for the Respiratory Drug Delivery Symposium.
Employment Experience
Prior to founding Next Breath, Dr. Suman's experience includes employment with PAREXEL's clinical pharmacology research unit as a clinical pharmacist consultant, research assistant at University of Maryland Department of Pharmaceutical Science, and an intern at Magellan Laboratories. Dr. Suman is also a licensed pharmacist with Walgreens Pharmacy.
Technical Competencies
- Core capabilities in formulation and device evaluation for nasal and pulmonary platforms.
- Competent in designing and implementing in-vitro tests and in-vivo studies for inhalation and nasal products.
- Technical and management skills include work on liquid dosage forms - their research, development and clinical testing.
- Well versed with GLPs, GCPs and Human Subjects Research.
- Organized and conducted patient studies. Wrote Institutional Review Board protocol, recruited and screened volunteers, trained volunteers, and coordinated nursing staff and analysis of biological samples.
